In addition to his trademark "double drack!," Gabe has come up with a new phrase that he uses when he's angry. Specifically, he uses it when we're disciplining him for something and he doesn't like that he's being disciplined (which is pretty much always). He'll get a very stern look on his face and yell "Stop my dimicle!"
What this means, I don't know. I'm guessing that I said something to the effect of "stop being difficult," and this is his garbled interpretation of that.
It's all I can do to not burst out laughing whenever he says it.
And I can't remember who said it first, nor do I know WHERE they could possibly have picked this one up, but they'll occasionally, out of the clear blue, say "too nasty!" and start laughing hysterically.
??????????
That's a great segue into some potty-training talk, though, because poop on the floor is pretty nasty, and that's what we had to deal with this morning. Actually, it happened while I was out for my run, so Scott was the one who had to clean it up, so HE had to deal with it, not me. How's that for good timing?
The kicker is that when this incident occurred, Dante was standing RIGHT NEXT TO THE POTTY SEAT! Did he not see it there? Did he forget it was there?
I'm very quickly remembering how much I hate potty training, and why I put it off for so long.
I know it's only day 2, and I have to cut the kid some slack, but I really hope he starts getting the hang of this quickly.
He did ok overall today, though. Had a few accidents, but there were also a few times where he remembered to go potty himself, which was a big accomplishment.
Anyway, I won't subject anyone to any more detailed accounts of our potty training adventures. It could be going better, but it could be going worse, too. On to day 3.....
So I decided to get in my one final run this morning, and it went well. I am absolutely sure, though, that I'm making the right decision about resting the remainder of this week.
I've got the info sheet for the race printed out, have downloaded a bunch of new songs and am finalizing my playlist, and am going berserk with the anticipation and excitement.
My plan is to pick up my race packet on Friday afternoon. I think it'll be so much nicer to have that done ahead of time. I'm going to be nervous enough Saturday morning without having to worry about getting that taken care of. And it'll be fun to bring the boys over there Friday, and let them check out the race headquarters.
We're already talking to them about the race, and how they're going to come cheer for me. And this morning when I was stretching out after my run, they both sat down on the floor and stretched with me. They were really copying all my stretches, too. I could picture us all doing that in about 7 or 8 years, after we had all gotten back from a run together. Can you imagine?? How awesome would that be?
4 days and counting....
Yes! Running a l'il bit will take the edge off the jitters :-) Stop being dimicle :-D
(too nasty!)
