I think I've come to the same realization. I love all 3 sports, just not together. I go between feeling like a quitter, but I love the challenge of longer distance races.

I enjoyed the tri knowing it was once and done! I could probably do one every year, but not much more than that. If you really weren't having that much fun, I'd say let it go and try again next year. Enjoy focusing on running again!
But congrats on the race! You weren't nearly as awful as you make it sound. :)
