When I started my Facebook page earlier this year, I never imagined I'd get to the point where I had 3,000+ people following it.
So, naturally, hitting that number is something to celebrate. And I can't think of a better way to celebrate the amazing Facebook running community than sharing some swag from one of my absolute favorite Facebook running pages - Run Like a Mother.
Sarah and Dimity are not only two of the nicest, funniest, most down-to-earth people you'll ever meet, but they're also two of the most badass mother runners I'm fortunate to count as friends (mostly virtual, although I have met them in person a few times).
They've graciously agreed to put together a great gift pack of mother runner goodies for one lucky winner - a signed copy of their second book, Train Like a Mother; one of their new mother runner water bottles; and a car sticker that lets you proudly proclaim your mother runner status.
The book is a goldmine of training information for all distances (including nine complete training plans), but covers the nitty gritty of training and workouts with the witty, conversational tone that immediately hooked me when I first picked up their first book, Run Like a Mother (if you haven't read it, you really, really should!).
Anytime I read passages from either book, I find myself nodding my head in agreement, and frequently laughing almost to the point of crying. But rest assured, they may be funny and real and casual in tone, but both books are full of incredibly useful tips and advice for any busy runner, whether you're a mom (or dad) or not.
Their store is chock full of other goodies, too - and I can personally vouch for the fact that their lifestyle tees are both incredibly witty and clever, as well as being some of the most comfortable items of clothing that I wear.
I'm well on my way to having one RLAM shirt for each day of the week, and just purchased one of the new 26.2 sweatshirts and the new mother runner pendant as an early Christmas present to myself.
If it seems like I'm a bit of a RLAM groupie, it's because I am. I'm not exaggerating the slightest bit when I say that finding the RLAM community - the tribe - has changed my life. I've made friends and connections that I never would have made otherwise, and I discovered that as much as I love to run, I also love to talk about running and dispense advice about running, which is what ultimately led me to getting certified as a running coach this summer. Running helped me discover who I am, and RLAM helped that newly discovered me find my voice.
And RLAM was my first introduction to this incredible larger community of runners who come together every day to cheer each other on, encourage and support one another, celebrate each other's triumphs, and commiserate when things are rough.
I can't say enough about how much I admire Sarah and Dimity for what they've created, and I'm so fortunate to be part of the tribe, and I can't wait to pass some of their wisdom - and their cute accessories - on to one of you.
So get your entries in using the Rafflecopter widget below, and on November 25th, I'll announce a winner on my Facebook page.
