Playdate went well this morning. Nine moms came with their kiddos, so it was a busy one, but very fun. I had made Rice Krispies treats and muffins, and then a few of the moms brought munchkins, so my boys were very overloaded on sugary treats.
After everyone cleared out around lunchtime, the boys and I went to visit Scott's mom for a short while. We hadn't seen her in quite a while, so they enjoyed going over there. And it was nice enough that we were able to sit out on the deck and enjoy the sunshine.
Can I just say again that I am SO happy it's spring?!
This afternoon was more of the same - playing outside, and a quick trip to the park. Unfortunately, we had to cut the park trip a little short when I spotted Gabe dumping a shovel full of sand on top of Dante's head.
But a fun day all in all.
And Gabe had one of his awesome big brother moments today. Dante was crying about something while they were eating some grapes after dinner, and Gabe said "It's ok, Dante. Here, have some of my grapes," and pushed a few grapes across the table to Dante, who immediately stopped crying and shoved the grapes in his mouth. Gabe can really step up to the plate when the occasion calls for it.
The other night Gabe was giving us trouble about going to sleep - kept coming out of his room and asking to come downstairs, saying he was too hot or too cold, and that he couldn't sleep with his light on or off. The usual stalling techniques.
He also asked Scott what we were doing downstairs, and Scott said that we were just reading the newspaper. So the next time Gabe got out of bed, I went up to talk to him, and he got all exasperated and sighed and said "But it's too noisy! Stop reading the newspaper, Mommy. I'm tryin' to sleep!"
I guess from now on I should try to turn the pages more quietly.
And tonight he started using a brand-new expression, and I have no idea where he got it from. They were eating grapes after dinner, and he looked at me and said "My problem is that I'm eating my grapes!" Then a few minutes later he said "My problem is that I want orange juice and cranberry juice."
I asked him what he was talking about, and he said "My problem is that I'm gonna throw my grapes."
I assured him that yes, that would indeed be a problem.
LOL! Watch out, he's a smart one ;-)
