I read what I wrote yesterday, and realized that it was just chock full of exclamation points. Chock full, I tell you! Not sure what that was all about. I guess I was feeling cheery, or festive, or excited, or something..... I'm not feeling quite so exclamatory (is that a word?) today, so my punctuation will be much more restrained.
Proof of how I've really gone off the deep end, though - I'm already thinking about when I'll run my next marathon. Trust me, it won't be for at least a year - I can't put myself or my family through that training again any time soon. But I know that I will choose a far less hilly course, and I will do everything in my power to stay healthy so that I can complete all of the training runs, and I will break 4 hours.
Gotta have goals, right? And since the big goal is to qualify for Boston by the time I'm 40 (that's only 3 years away!), there's no time to waste!
The short-term goal, though, is to race the Mews Tavern 5K next month and hopefully set a new PR for that course. I feel pretty confident that I can do it, but of course you never know until you're actually crossing the finish line.
I know I said I wasn't going to run at all this week, but right now my shin is feeling so good, and so completely recovered, I may sneak in a couple of miles tomorrow or Thursday. My willpower is seriously lacking in this area.....
The boys got Halloween cards from Grammy and Grampy yesterday, and inside each of their cards was a bunch of halloween stickers and two dollar bills. They got right to work with the stickers, filling page after page of their doodle pad with stickers of candy corn, pumpkins, bats, and ghosts. We called Grammy and Grampy to say thank you, and when Dante was talking to Grammy, he asked her "Why did you call me, Grammy?"
And when I asked Gabe what he was going to buy with his money, he said "Stuff!" (that's Gabe's exclamation point, not mine)
Yesterday was a big day for Gabe, too - he learned how to dribble a basketball, and he was soooo thrilled to show me. I have to admit, I was pretty impressed. He was really doing very well. I'm really interested to see what sports he ends up enjoying, because he definitely seems to have some athletic inclinations, and I'm excited for him to try different stuff and figure out what he likes and wants to do.
Dante has his own athletic abilities, but more notable right now are his somewhat outrageous food combinations. He's a big-time dipper, and has dipped some very strange stuff in the past, but today's lunch really topped them all.
He had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich (cut into the shape of a ghost, courtesy of my new halloween cookie cutters), a few pickles, and some carrots with hummus. But since Gabe doesn't like hummus, he had his carrots with ranch dressing, which meant that Dante had to have ranch dressing, too.
So Dante was dipping his carrots in the ranch dressing and the hummus - not too outrageous. But then he dipped the sandwich - peanut butter and jelly, remember - in the hummus.
He was so proud of himself, too, pointing it out to me - "Look, Mommy! I dipped my sandwich!"
I don't think I'll ever have to worry about him being a picky eater.....
I do the same thing with exclamation points! I get excited!

So, did you discuss that loan offer with Gabe? (and I never use exclamation points!!!)

Nothing wrong with exclamation points! They are great!! I love them!!! More, more, more!!!!!!! :-)
Great job setting new running goals. I bet you are going to have a great 5k. Oops, forgot the exclamation point. (!)
