I hope I'm not jinxing myself by saying this, but I think I can now safely say that Dante is potty trained.
He has pooped in the potty for the past 4 days in a row, he went all day yesterday without a single accident, and he's even able to stay dry for his naps.
Yesterday I put away all the changing pads and associated linens, and his changing table/dresser is now just a dresser, with toys on top of it, instead of diapers.
It's still kind of shocking to me that we no longer have diapers to change. I know that he'll probably still have an accident now and then, but diapers are no longer a part of our life. It feels strange. Good, but strange.
We also recently switched Dante from his convertible carseat to Gabe's booster seat (still with the 5-point harness, though), and moved Gabe into a backless booster seat.
As of the beginning of January, Dante only has his pacifier for naptime and bedtime, and he's absolutely, perfectly fine with that - no resistance at all.
All the vestiges of babyhood are slowly but surely disappearing from the house.
It's a little sad to see my babies growing up to be such big boys, but also fun and exciting to think about how, as they get older, all new adventures are opening up to us - Gabe playing T-Ball this spring, Dante playing soccer with Gabe, me taking Gabe for an afternoon at the movies, all of us riding bikes together on the bike path...
Time marches on.
Wow... it was a joyous occasion when that happened with the twins. I can't wait till Chris is potty trained so we can put an end to diapers permanently. For the most part, Chris only has a binkie for naptime and night.
Yes, accidents probably will happen. Does he wear pullups at night time? That was the hardest for the twins to make it through.
