You'd think that with Gabe in school all day, and Dante in preschool a few times a week, I'd have loads of spare time to sit around and blog and do other stuff that I can't really do while they're both at home, but I am finding more than enough things to do to fill all that spare time - and yes, some of it is spent sitting on the couch watching stupid TV or reading magazines.
I'm feeling rather sluggish since the race last week, and since last Tuesday, have felt like I've been fighting off either a cold or some seriously awful seasonal allergies, and it got so bad Thursday that I literally spent almost the entire day on the couch. Luckily Dante is pretty easily entertained, but even he was getting a little bored by the end of the day, and I think he was very glad that I felt better on Friday. The reason I think it's allergies is that my symptoms seem to come and go, which doesn't seem typical of a cold, and my only symptoms have been a slightly scratchy throat, stuffy nose, and extreme fatigue.
The fatigue is getting to me more than anything. I'm tired of being tired. And yes, I know that once this baby arrives, I'm going to be even more tired, from getting up umpteen times a night, but I'm prepared for that. I'm not prepared for feeling so low on energy now, and I don't like it. It's just not like me, and I feel so "off."
I'm not pushing myself, though, and when I need to take it easy, I'm taking it easy, which means that I haven't worked out since last Tuesday. The fatigue seems to be lifting, though, so as long as I feel up to it, I'm planning on a short run tomorrow.
We had a busy weekend, including Gabe's soccer game on Saturday, and a trip to CT on Sunday, so we didn't do a whole lot today, even though Gabe had the day off from school. I spent some time this morning assembling a bunch of stuff I bought at IKEA yesterday, and the boys spent some time constructing stuff out of the empty boxes.
After lunch we made a quick stop at Wal-Mart, where we bought new magic markers (they've been coloring so much, they're going through markers like crazy!), and we went to the park for a little while afterward, but Gabe was so excited to use his new markers that we cut our park visit short so they could come home and color.
I also got my Halloween decorations out today. I don't have a lot, but the boys were so excited just to see the few jack-o-lanterns and ghosts that I do have : )
Hard to believe that Halloween is right around the corner, and that we're going to have a baby in 15 weeks! I went out Saturday afternoon to buy a few more Christmas gifts, and am going to try to keep chipping away at it slowly, so that it's all done by Thanksgiving. I just don't think I'm going to be dragging my 8-months-pregnant self to the mall to do last-minute shopping, so time is of the essence....
wellll, you have been running too, and are you eating well?? Hang in there!! You know what you are doing and this will pass :-)
