Sometime last weekend the boys were talking about how they often have 'Waffle Wednesday' for hot lunch at school, and how it would be fun to have Macaroni Monday, and Taco Tuesday. So I decided to run with it, and we had a whole week of alliterative dinners.
To finish up the week, we had Waffle Wednesday, Three-Cheese Pizza Thursday, French Fries (and Cheeseburgers) Friday, Sausage Saturday, and Salmon Sunday. They got a big kick out of it, and it'll be a fun thing to do once or twice a year - a nice compliment to our frequently celebrated "Backwards Day."
-----------------------------
Carmine is getting way too smart. Any time we drive by a Dunkin' Donuts now, he yells from the back seat "I see donuts!" And when we drive up to Starbucks, he shouts "cofFEEEEEEEE!!!"
He also sometimes confuses pictures of iced coffee with ice cream cones - which isn't surprising, since so many iced coffee drinks are topped with whipped cream. He saw one on the back of a truck the other day, and 'counted' it - "Carmine see coffee. Now Carmine count coffee. One, two, four, six, seven! YAYYYYYY!!!! Carmine have fun counting coffee." He's so enthusiastic about everything : )
And he just never. stops. talking. I didn't think I could have a child who talked more than Dante, but Carmine is definitely vying for that position.
In true third-child fashion, he's also learned a lot of things way, way earlier than Gabe and Dante did - things like playing Angry Birds.
He watches Gabe and Dante play it all the time on the iPad, and one day when he was playing some of his own, age-appropriate games, he figured out how to navigate to the home screen, saw the Angry Birds app, and started it up.
He doesn't really play, of course, but he does know enough to tap the birds to make them move - but he usually sends them flying backwards, which is completely hilarious to Gabe and Dante. So they all sit there watching the birds fly the wrong way, laughing hysterically, until Carmine shouts "Awwwww, darn..... now try again!"

And this is completely unrelated to anything else in this post, but I have to include it - I was clipping Dante's toenails tonight, and he grabbed the clipping from his big toe, and said "Hey, I should put this in my portfolio!"
I don't know what kind of portfolio he's got going, but I don't think I have any desire to peruse it.
Once again, your blog gave me some good laughs until I got to Dante and his toenail...at which time I laughed so hard I cried......love you lots and thanks for sharing the boys lives with me !
