Disclaimer: I was provided with a complementary RunnerBox to sample for this review. All opinions are my own.
I saw RunnerBox for the first time on Facebook, and immediately clicked over to their website to check it out. A RunnerBox is basically a gift basket for runners, packaged neatly (and very attractively) in a mini shoebox.
Here's the description from their website:
RunnerBox is a subscription based box for runners, triathletes and other active people. It is a mini shoebox filled with running products, mailed to your front door. It has everything from energy products, gels, chews, protein shakes/supplements, nutrition bars, skincare, and other accessories! Some products will be brand new (but personally tested) on the market, and some will be tried and true favorites. With so many products coming out on the market, leave the trials and testing to us, we’ll search out the best and send them to you!
I jumped at the chance to review one, and it was so fun opening the box the day it arrived!
The quote on the inside lid was a nice touch, I thought : )
There's a nice personalized note, and a list detailing every item that's in the box.
It was like Christmas morning - so many fun goodies!
It's all packed in the box so neatly, it's a bit deceiving. When you start to take everything out, you realize just how much they've managed to jam in there - and for $20 per box, you really get your money's worth.
Some of my favorites were the Energy Bars - there were a few different kinds, and every one of them was made with all-natural ingredients. No fillers or icky stuff. I loved the Honey Stinger products, and the Pro Bar Bolt strawberry chews were super tasty - again, all natural and organic - I much prefer those types of fueling products when I can get them, so these were great.
There were a few toiletry type of items, too - the "Shower Pill" wipe was a nice item to get - I can always use one of those for my gym bag. And especially now with the summer heat and humidity in full force, you can never have enough anti-chafing products, so the Run Guard was a great addition. I haven't yet tried the Hyland's Leg Cramps tablets, but I've heard so many good things about them, I'll definitely be testing them out soon.
A few more snacks - Lenny & Larry's Muscle Brownie seemed way too delicious to be healthy, but with 20g of protein and all-natural ingredients, it's definitely packing some serious nutritional value - and some Nuun samples rounded out the package very nicely.
And when I kept going, I discovered a nice group of coupons, including for Knuckle Lights, Run Guard, and protein bars. In addition, there were some coupon codes on the sheet that detailed the package contents - up to 10 and 20% off some of the prodcuts that I had just had the chance to try.
One final item I wanted to note, because it's something I had never seen before - Ion Designs highly reflective iron-on decals that you can apply to clothing or backpacks. There were three decals in my box, and an e-coupon for 15% off an online order. Love this idea either for myself, or even for my kids' school backpacks - and you can even order custom designs.
Like I said - it felt like Christmas, going through and sampling things, and I was thoroughly impressed with both the quality and quantity of the products in the GiftBox I received.
There are a few different types of boxes available, including a Gluten-Free option, and a TriBox, if you're a triathlete or know someone who is.
The boxes are available for one-time purchase, or as a bimonthly subscription, and are $20 each. And I have to reiterate - you get a LOT of very high-quality products for just $20. Shipping costs an additional $5.70 (flat rate), but even with the shipping costs added in, you're getting a lot of bang for your buck.
This would make a great gift for a friend or acquaintance who's gearing up for a big race - and I immediately thought of it as a great teacher gift, if you happen to know that your child's teacher is a runner or triathlete. Or order it as a bimonthly treat for yourself. If you like to check out new products, this is a great way to do it!
And luckily, one of you will get the chance to try one out for yourself - enter using the Rafflecopter below, and one lucky winner will be chosen on Wednesday, July 24.
Good luck and happy running!

Hey would you mind sharing which blog platform you're working with? I'm looking to start my own blog soon but I'm having a tough time deciding between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your design and style seems different then most blogs and I'm looking for something unique. P.S Apologies for getting off-topic but I had to ask!

Loyd - It's Typepad. It is a little different, which is what I like about it!
